Program Plus is a monthly oral tablet for dogs for the prevention and control of flea infestations and the concurrent treatment of adult stages of gastrointestinal nematodes such as hookworms, roundworms and whipworms.
Program Plus contains Lufenuron, a flea growth regulator and Milbemycin, a nematocide. Lufenuron interrupts the flea breeding cycle by preventing the development of flea eggs and larvae. Therefore, adult fleas which feed on a pet treated with Program will produce eggs or larvae that do not develop into adult fleas, thus reducing the number of fleas in the environment. Milbemycin paralyses gastrointestinal nematodes leading to their expulsion via faceas.
Directions for use:
Program Plus should be used as part of the seasonal prevention of fleas replacing Program tablets in cases where gastrointestinal nematode infection is suspected or diagnosed.
In puppies, it is recommended that Program Plus be used from 6 weeks until 6 months of age at one month intervals. If dogs have a high level of flea infestation at the start of treatment, it is recommended to apply a flea adulticide like Capstar tablets as Program Plus does not kill adult fleas.
For optimal flea control it is essential to treat all dogs in the household individually.
Program Plus should be administered at monthly intervals. Administer the tablet either with food or orally after a meal. 1 tablet will treat one dog weighing between 23 - 45 kg. For dogs weighing over 45 kg it is recommended that a combination of tablets be used according to the weight of your dog.
Do not use on puppies younger than 6 weeks of age.
Dogs already infested with fleas should be treated with an adulticide as Program does not kill adult fleas.
It is important to ensure that Program is given either with or after a meal.
