Capstar is an oral tablet that contains a fast-acting adulticide for the control of adult fleas on cats and dogs. It also treats Flea-Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), regular treatment reduces the number of flea bites experienced by the animal. Capstar has a rapid killing action - killing fleas 30 minutes after administration and works for a short duration as it is active in your pets body for 24 hours only.
Dosage and Administration
CAPSTAR is given orally at the minimal dose of 1mg nitenpyram per kg body weight. Treatment can begin on any day when fleas are seen on the animal, and repeated on any subsequent day fleas are seen.

If a continuous flea infestation is observed after using Capstar, a monthly flea treatment such as Practic should be considered.
Properties:
Nitenpyram, the active ingredient is Capstar, belongs to the chemical class of neonicotinoids which bind and inhibit insect (flea) specific nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
Nitenpyram interferes with the normal nerve transmission and leads to the death of the insect (flea).
Nitenpyram does not inhibit acetylcholinesterase.
